As a chiropractor, specialising in working with pregnant women, Sharon Sackey grew frustrated with the tools available to herself and fellow practitioners. Knowing that she had the skills to help women enjoy a pain-free pregnancy, she set about designing a prone pregnancy pillow for use by professional therapists.
Sharon's goal in creating Belloost was to help more women enjoy their pregnancy and guide them on how to prepare for labour through mindfulness, exercise and hands-on care. Sharon explains: "There is so much that can be done to reduce the risk of intervention and prevent traumatic births, but a lot of women don't even know they can get treatment whilst pregnant, or that their postural and exercise habits can help prepare their body for labour and prevent pain."
