5 ways to use your Belloost pregnancy pillow

4 MINUTE READ

In this blog we are going to

discuss some of the best ways to use your Belloost Home Pregnancy Pillow.

So you have your Belloost Pillow, what now?

We’ve asked our customers what they like to use their Belloost Home Pregnancy Pillows for the most. Obviously, the number one answer was how amazing it is to be able to lie belly down and rest your tired back!

Here are our top 5 recommendations:

1. Meditation

Whether it’s listening to hypnobirthing audios, listening to some guided meditation, or just practicing visualisations, taking time to have a lie down and completely relax your body and mind have been shown to have a number of benefits, particularly during pregnancy. These include: better sleep, anxiety / stress relief, reduced tension, positive labour preparation and a lower risk of postpartum depression. Taking time to completely connect to your changing body without the distraction of pregnancy back pain allows you to really maximise that mediation time.

2. Pregnancy exercise

We love sharing some pregnancy exercise tips on our instagram page. Exercise during pregnancy is hugely impactful for preparing your body for labour. The practice of sticking to an exercise for a few extra reps, is a great way to build confidence in your ability to ride out each wave of contraction when you are in labour. When it comes to using your Belloost pregnancy pillow, working on prehab exercises can help improve your strength ready for the next workout.

3. Pregnancy massage

There is no better way to enjoy a pregnancy massage than while lying belly-down. Just ask the hundreds of massage therapists who use the Belloost professional pregnancy pillow in their practice! Ask your partner to give you a relieving neck rub, or massage your achy calves while you relax on your Belloost pillow. You can download our free hands on pregnancy and labour poster to learn some useful massage and acupressure points to focus on too.

4. Listening to a podcast

Podcasts are a great way to get a load of information distilled into an easy to follow format. If you are not one for reading, you can certainly listen your way to becoming informed and prepared for labour. Some that we've enjoyed include Birth-ed and The GentleBirth Podcast.

5. Reading

There are so many great reads to get you in the right headspace for an empowered birthing experience. Hypnobirthing (by Marie Mongan), any Ina May Gaskin books, and The Positive Birth Book are just a few of our favourites.

Send us a message and let us know how you like to use your down time, both on and off your Belloost Pregnancy Pillow. We’d love to hear how you relax!
